Were cheese balls invented for New Year’s Eve parties? They must have been.

Here is my favorite cheese ball recipe:

(2) 8 oz. packages of cream cheese, allow to soften a bit
(1) Onion, chopped find
(2) Packages of dried beef, chopped fine (I use Aldi packaged beef lunchmeat—like Buddig)
Shredded cheddar cheese (as much as you want)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste
(2) Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Chopped nuts

Mix everything together except the nuts. An electric mixer makes this very easy.
Put the mixture onto some plastic wrap or parchment paper and form into a ball.
Chill for about 30 minutes.
Roll in chopped nuts to coat the entire ball. Chill until ready to serve.
Serve with crackers.
