Foundry to host $95 “Off the Wall” art sale

The Foundry Art Centre will host a $95 “Off the Wall” Art Sale March 21 and 22, 2009. This sale of original artwork is comprised of over 175 5” x 7” pieces of art from artists around the region and across the country. The artists have all signed their work on the back of their artwork rather than the front, offering the public a chance to purchase “art, for art’s sake.”
A few artists who have donated work are Ron Thomas, Brother Mel Meyer, Harry Weber, M. J. Goerke and Billy O’Donnell.
Saturday, March 21, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. is the preview party and reception during which patrons can purchase the art that evening and take it home with them. There is a $25 admission fee for the reception and preview party on Saturday. The show and sale will continue on Sunday, March 22 from noon ‘til 4:00 p.m.

The Foundry Art Centre is a fine arts gallery overlooking the Missouri River at 520 North Main Center, in the Frenchtown district of Historic St. Charles. The Foundry features a Smithsonian-caliber art gallery hosting national juried exhibitions plus 20 working artist studios where visitors can watch the creative process and buy art directly from the artists. The not-for-profit art centre also provides community meeting rooms, event space and a children’s art gallery.
