Kim Massie to appear at Foundry Art Centre

The Foundry Art Centre and Jazz St. Louis are pleased to present Kim Massie in concert. With a one-two punch of powerful vocals and sassy style, St. Louis’ singing icon, Kim Massie, is kicking off the Whitaker Community Concert Series on Thursday, October 16, 7:30 p.m. at the Foundry Art Centre, 520 North Main Center in St. Charles.

The concert is open to everyone and is free to the public. No reservations are required.

The Whitaker Community Concert Series aims to increase awareness and appreciation of jazz throughout the region, and attract new audiences for jazz in divergent communities. The event is sponsored by American Family Insurance.

The Foundry Art Centre is a fine arts gallery overlooking the Missouri River at 520 North Main Center, in the Frenchtown district of St. Charles. The Foundry features a Smithsonian-caliber art gallery hosting national juried exhibitions plus 20 working artist studios where visitors can watch the creative process and buy art directly from the artists. The not-for-profit art centre also provides community meeting rooms, event space and a children’s art gallery. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free and donations are welcome.

Jazz St. Louis is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote, present and preserve jazz in Greater St. Louis and to enhance St. Louis’ reputation as a premier jazz center. Jazz St. Louis supports its mission through performance, education and outreach activities that build youth and adult audiences for jazz and nourish the music and the musician.
