Marlissa Hudson to perform in St. Charles

As part of the Crescendo Concert Series, lyric coloratura soprano*, Marlissa Hudson, will perform on March 7 at St. John United Church of Christ located at 405 South Fifth Street in St. Charles.

Hudson is an accomplished concert performer, having appeared with Union Avenue Opera in St. Louis, St. Louis Symphony, Baltimore Symphony Pops Orchestra, National Philharmonic, Choralis, Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, The Orange Girls, St. Louis Civic Orchestra and the Prince George’s Philharmonic.

Hudson has been described as having “incredible vocal endurance” and “warm, bright, spinning tones.”

*Wikipedia describes a lyric coloratura soprano as a vocalist with an “agile light voice” capable of high upper extension. The vocal range of a lyric coloratura is approximately middle C (C4) to “high F” (F6). Beverly Sills was a lyric coloratura.
