Lake Saint Louis
Police are investigating a break-in that occurred at First Baptist Church on Lake Saint Louis Boulevard between noon Sunday, June 22 and 6:30 a.m. the following morning.
Burglars gained access to the church by tearing a screen and breaking a window at the rear of the building. Additional property damage was done to the outside of the facility.
The inside of the building was vandalized in several areas, some interior doors were found to have been forced open, and food was scattered about, but it did not immediately appear as though anything had been stolen. Several items of evidence were seized at the scene for further analysis.
A sexually explicit photograph left at the scene by the intruders provided a website address that may allow police to identify persons of interest in the case.
Police say they want to interview some young men in their teens observed by several witnesses in and around the church Sunday morning. Individuals with information about the incident are encouraged to call the Lake Saint Louis Police Department at (636) 625-8018 or on the agency’s Tip Line: (636) 625-7995.
