Police chase ends at Lowe’s

According to initial reports:

A heavy police presence converged at Lowe’s on Ronald Reagan Drive in Lake Saint Louis Thursday, shortly after 4:00 p.m.

A male subject described as having salt and pepper colored hair and wearing blue jeans, a grey hoodie and blue jean jacket, allegedly stole a green Dodge vehicle with the keys still inside.

Police chased the vehicle near Zachary’s Park on Orf Road until the vehicle crashed into a nearby concrete barricade.

The subject ran inside Lowe’s, which led law enforcement on a search inside the building. During the chase, the man shed his blue jean jacket and hoodie near the lumber department.

Officers apprehended the subject near the plumbing area of the store at about 4:35 p.m.

Authorities at the scene included: State, County with K-9 unit, Lake Saint Louis, O’Fallon and a St. Charles County park ranger.
