Van overturns in Highway 40 accident

A motor vehicle accident occurred Friday at about 9:40 p.m. on Highway 40 at Dauphine in Lake Saint Louis, a spot which has been identified by authorities as hazardous during current road construction.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, David M. San Miguel, 49, of Lake Saint Louis, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van westbound on Highway 40 in Lake Saint Louis.
A 1992 Honda Accord, driven by Nancy J. Ferner, 47, of Lake Saint Louis, pulled into the path of Miguel. The vehicle Miguel was driving then struck the left rear side of the Honda Accord.
The van overturned off the left side of the road and came to rest in an upright position.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Westbound lanes of Highway 40 were closed for about an hour, from Lake Saint Louis Boulevard to Dauphine.
