November 5, 2008
O’Fallon
A robbery reported at Domino’s Pizza, 3441 Pheasant Meadow Drive, on Nov. 2 at about 10:45 p.m., was later discovered to be a false report.
A pizza delivery driver for Domino’s returned from a delivery in the area to discover the lights off at the business. Upon his return, the alarm sounded and he called for his manager but got no answer. He left and called the police.
Upon arrival, the officers cleared the building and found the manager unconscious in the office with minor injuries.
The manager initially made contradicting statements about what had happened and was transported to the hospital for treatment. During further investigation, the victim admitted to fabricating the robbery incident for attention.
Charges are pending for making a false police report.
