Fatal car accident on Highway K

A vehicle accident on Highway K, north of Pheasant Meadows, claimed the life of a man Tues. at about 1:45 a.m.
Kurt W. Zurweller, 24, of O’Fallon, drove a 2004 Dodge Stratus across the northbound lanes and into the path of a southbound 2006 Mack Truck, driven by Daniel G. Shouse, 44, of Camp Point, IL.
The State Highway Patrol’s report indicates that Shouse attempted to avoid the accident.
Zurweller died at the scene and was not wearing a seat belt.
