Founders Day at Fort Zumwalt Park

April 23, 2008
O’Fallon

On Sat. May 3, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., O’Fallon will host a new event called Founders Day at Fort Zumwalt Park.  This will celebrate O’Fallon’s exceptional heritage as a War of 1812 site.

There will be a War of 1812 living history camp. Artifacts unearthed during archaeological surveys in the park will be on display; and the first foundation stones for the rebuilding of Zumwalt’s Fort will be placed during the festivities.

There will also be 1800-period games and activities as well as old-fashioned items and foods on sale.

Visitors will be able to park at Civic Park and ride a free shuttle to the event.

For more information about Founders Day, call 636-379-5614. For more information about O’Fallon’s history, visit the O’Fallon Community Foundation website.
