Hostage standoff in O'Fallon ends with 2 dead

More information on the hostage incident in O’Fallon:
It has now been reported that the gunman and his hostage are both dead.
The 45-year-old gunman shot his ex-girlfriend, 47-year-old Jenenne Marie Meadows of St. Peters. She had been working at the medical center Friday evening.
Meadows was allowed to make a call to her family, to say “good-bye.” After she attempted to unlock the door, the gunman began shooting her.
The SWAT team then broke into the room and shot the gunman, whose name has not been released.
Meadows and the gunman were taken to the hospital and both died shortly thereafter.

The hostage situation in O’Fallon has concluded. Unconfirmed reports state that a woman, who has been reported to be a lab employee, was shot by the gunman at about 6:30 p.m. After she was shot, the SWAT team moved in and shot the suspect. Highway K has been re-opened. It’s been reported that a domestic dispute started this sequence of events.

Authorities received a call at about 4:30 p.m. Friday that a man with a gun was seen inside a laboratory at the St. John’s Health Center on Winding Woods Drive in O’Fallon. The facility went to lock down and was evacuated calmly.
It’s being reported that this may be a hostage situation on the second floor of the building. The SWAT team is on the scene. Highway K has been shut off.
