Let’s go to Kimmswick
August 21, 2008
O’Fallon
Take a four-hour cruise on the Tom Sawyer Riverboat from the historic river town of Kimmswick, Missouri. Kimmswick was named one of the Top 100 Small Town Getaways by Midwest Living Magazine and has recently been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
This trip to Kimmswick offers a chance to explore the town on foot and have lunch at the Blue Owl Restaurant and Bakery.
You have heard of the Blue Owl Restaurant and Bakery, haven’t you? It was featured on Food Network’s “Road Tested” with Paula Deen’s sons, Jamie and Bobby and also on the show “Paula’s Party.”
Owner of The Blue Owl, Mary Hostetter, taught the Deen’s and their television audience how to make their famous Levee High Apple Pie with caramel pecan topping. This incredible pie calls for 24 apples!
The Kimmswick outing takes place on Oct. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $80 for O’Fallon residents and $85 for non-residents. Cost includes transportation, lunch, riverboat admission, gratuities and escort.
