O'Fallon Officer Budds receives commendation

On 07/10/08, during a City of O’Fallon board meeting, Chief Jerry Schulte, gave a Commendation on a job well done to Officer Patrick Budds.
On 05/15/08, Officers responded to a residential alarm on Country Life and located a forced open door. An area canvass located witnesses.
Officer Budds located two suspicious subjects entering a nearby store. The suspects were positively identified and were taken into custody.
Officer Budds developed a theory that the suspects had a vehicle in the area. He continued searching for the vehicle on his own time after his shift ended. A suspicious vehicle was located. The vehicle was stolen and had additional stolen items inside.
Through officer Budds due diligence and investigative skills a number of felony cases will be cleared in O’Fallon, in addition to cases in St. Peters. Officer Budds is commended for his professionalism and dedication to duty. His actions reflect positively on himself and the department. This was excellent police and teamwork work on his part. The department thanks him for a job well done.
