Detective Jodi Weber named Officer of the Year

The O’Fallon Police Departments would like to announce Detective Jodi Weber has been awarded the department’s Officer of the Year for 2007. Det. Weber has been with the department for the last seven years. The award will be given to Detective Weber at the VFW Post 5077, 8500 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, on 01/26/08, at the 28th Annual Awards Operation Dinner.
Detective Weber is assigned to the criminal investigation unit where she is assigned primarily crimes against persons. During this past year her investigations have resulted in the clearing of armed robberies, sexual assaults, burglaries, felonious assaults, parental kidnappings and child pornography cases. Her clearance rate is the highest within the unit. Det. Weber also serves on the child fatality review board for this county when needed.
Over the past year Detective Weber has also been given additional training with ICAC task force. This task force is responsible for investigating crimes against children which originate over the computer. Serving in this capacity she has assisted the St Charles County Sheriff’s Office and FBI with child porn investigations within our community and County. Her work here has been responsible for taking child predators off the streets of our community and County.
Detective Weber also serves as a member of the Major Case Squad. This elite group of investigators is amongst the most highly trained and qualified investigators within the state. This year she assisted with a fifteen year old homicide in the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. She was commended by this squad’s commander for her actions and attitude during the two week assignment.
Beyond her abilities and highly successful actions Det. Weber epitomizes what a professional police officer is. Her day to day actions and efforts are exemplary. Her positive mindset and strong work ethic are some of her strongest traits. Her display of empathy towards those she contacts within her work environment is outstanding. For these and many more reasons it is with pride that the City of O’Fallon honors her as their Police Officer of the year.
