The election according to Baskin Robbins
November 3, 2008
O’Fallon
In honor of the presidential election, ice cream biggie, Baskin Robbins, released two new flavors: Straight Talk Crunch for Senator John McCain and Whirl of Change for Senator Barack Obama.
Beginning Sept. 3, in-store as well as online elections were held. Election results were not based on preferred ice cream flavor.
Theresa at the O’Fallon Baskin Robbins store said that patrons could indulge in whichever ice cream flavor they wanted, even if it wasn’t representative of their vote.
Polls closed at midnight, Oct. 20 and votes were calculated shortly afterward.
So, who do ice cream lovers want for our next president? The results were extremely close: Straight Talk Crunch, 49%. Whirl of Change, 51%.
Obama won by a creamy 2%.
