Home Improvement Loan Program begins soon

O’Fallon, Missouri

Applications for the Home Improvement Loan Program in O’Fallon, Missouri will be available for pick up at O’Fallon City Hall on January 14, 2008.

These no-interest forgivable five-year loans of up to $5,000 will be available to a limited number of O’Fallon homeowners who qualify. Priority will be given to low income households on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are funds remaining after these applications have been considered, then applications from moderate income households will be prioritized the same way.

Eligible projects include repairing or replacing water heaters sump pumps, siding, roofs in addition to other approved home improvements. New construction, appliances and security alarm system projects are ineligible. Housing code violations must be corrected before any other projects are approved.

The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal alien, reside within the corporate city limits of O’Fallon (not in a floodplain), have been the owner/occupant for at least one year of the single family dwelling to be improved, have no pending bankruptcies and be current on mortgage payments and taxes.

Completed loan applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis during regular business hours at City Hall February 4 through May 30.
