O’Fallon Pizza Hut robbed at gunpoint

Two men robbed Pizza Hut at 2917 Highway K in O’Fallon Jan. 10, with what was described as a semi-automatic gun. Though a clerk was assaulted, no injuries were reported. The robbers fled on foot.
O’Fallon police were searching for the men in Royall Springs subdivision shortly before 11:00 p.m. last night. One man was described as wearing a puffy brown coat. Any information about this incident should be reported to the O’Fallon Police Department at 636-240-3200.
A similar armed robbery occurred about seven miles away in Lake Saint Louis at Dad’s Bottle Shop on Jan. 1 of this year. Three men reportedly performed that robbery. Initial descriptions of the suspects in both cases are similar.
Lake Saint Louis Police are assisting O’Fallon Police by submitting video surveillance of the Dad’s Bottle Shop robbery. For identification, the victim in the Pizza Hut incident will compare the men in the Lake Saint Louis footage to the men who robbed the store last night.
The following statement was issued by O’Fallon Police Friday, Jan. 11, 2008:
A Brief Synopsis of Events:
On 01/10/08, at approximately 10:30 pm, there was a report of an Armed Robbery at Pizza Hut, located at 2917 Hwy K. Two black males came to the business. One suspect approached the male clerk striking him with a black handgun demanding money. The clerk could not open the safe and the two subjects ran away without any money or items from the business. The clerk did not sustain any injuries.
One of suspects was described as being in his late teens to early twenties, approximately six feet tall, with a slender build, wearing dark jeans and a puffy coat. The other suspect was described as being approximately six feet tall with a slender build and possibly in his late teens or early twenties, wearing dark jeans and a brown puffy winter coat with the hood up.
