Dardenne Prairie home catches fire

At about 3:45 p.m. Saturday, a fire was reported in the 1700 block of Renoir in Dardenne Prairie. Flames were visible from the kitchen and living room windows. At one point, fire fighters focused on the chimney.

According to witnesses on the scene, a woman was taken to the hospital for burns. The other occupants of the home, including pets, were not harmed.

Renoir was closed between Van Gogh Drive and Monet Drive. Many of the neighbors gathered on surrounding streets as the fire was brought under control.

The fire was under control at about 4:12 p.m. It is unclear what caused the fire. The structure appeared to suffer extensive damage.
