Hazelwood teen dies in Lincoln County accident

At about 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, a 16-year-old Silex male was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup truck Southbound on Route O, South of Olney Cemetery Road.
According to the Missouri State Highway report: The driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway which caused the vehicle to travel off the west side of the road. The vehicle then struck a tree.
The passenger, Joseph T. Adler, 18, of Hazelwood, was pronounced dead by the Lincoln County Coroner at 3:28 a.m.
The driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Lincoln County Medical Center by Lincoln County Ambulance.
Neither the driver nor Adler was wearing a seat belt.
