Bring your pooch to the fifth annual Paws in the Park celebration at Broemmelsiek Park. Held on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the off-leash dog area, Paws in the Park is sure to be a great time for dogs and humans alike.

The free, family-friendly event is hosted by the St. Charles County Parks Department taking an opportunity to celebrate this unique 2.5-acre fenced dog park. There is abundant shade and a small pond for dogs to enjoy a refreshing dip.

Become a “Watch Dog”

The parks department is seeking “Watch Dog” volunteers who will share information with event visitors about etiquette and rules of the facility. A volunteer seminar will be held at 12:15 p.m. on the day of the event to train volunteers to become “Watch Dogs.” These volunteers will receive a t-shirt after completing their training session. If you would like to become a “Watch Dog” volunteer or to register to attend the class, call 636-949-7535.

Broemmelsiek Park is located at the intersection of Schwede and Wilson Roads about one-half mile west of Highway DD and four miles southwest of the intersection of Highway 40/61 and WingHaven Boulevard. The dog park is located on Wilson Road.

Since the Tour of Missouri race will also be using Highway DD the same day, guests may choose to get to Broemmelsiek Park via Highway N. From Highway N, go south on Hopewell Road for approximately two miles to Hoffman Road. At Hoffman Road, turn left and continue to Schwede Road. Then turn right on Wilson Road
