Sunday difficulties on Highway 94
August 25, 2008
St. Charles County
A couple of accidents occurred Sunday at separate locations on Highway 94:
At around 2:00 p.m., on Highway 94 near Beckmann in St. Charles County, Virginia E. Laskowsky, 52, from Defiance, was driving a 1996 Chrysler Town and Country van northbound on Highway 94.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Laskowsky tried to avoid stopped traffic ahead of her and traveled across the median into the path of a 2005 Toyota Avalon, driven by Timothy M. Murphy, 53, of St. Charles.
Laskowsky suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Progress West Health Center by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Later that same day, at about 6:40 p.m., Dennis J. Setchfield, 38, of O’Fallon, was riding a 1996 Yamaha Royal Star motorcycle eastbound on Highway 94 in Defiance.
While navigating a corner, Setchfield encountered an unidentified oncoming vehicle. As Setchfield avoided the other vehicle, he traveled to the right, exited the road and overturned. Both he and his passenger were ejected.
Setchfield sustained minor injuries and was taken to St. John’s Hospital in Creve Coeur by St. Charles County Ambulance.
