The joy of sandbagging

Have you considered volunteering with the flood-protection efforts, but don’t exactly know what that entails? The jobs are not difficult at all.

Someone shovels sand into a bag (about 2/3 to ½ full) while someone else holds the bag open. After the bags have been filled and tied, volunteers sometimes form a brigade, and the 30- to 40-pound bags are handed down the line. The person positioning the bags should be someone knowledgeable about the best way to build a wall for the most protection.
