Woman sustains serious injuries in accident

At about 12:55 a.m. Thursday morning, Nicole L. Layton, 21, of St. Peters was traveling southbound on Highway 94 in a 1994 Mazda Protégé.
Layton entered into the left turn lane for Beckman Road, continued southbound and struck the base of an electrical signal pole which caused her vehicle to overturn and rest on its roof in the northbound lanes of Highway 94.
Layton sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Johns Hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Cottleville Fire Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the accident.
