Domino-style accident includes five vehicles

On Monday, Aug. 24 at about 6:35 p.m., four vehicles were stopped due to westbound traffic on Interstate 70 near Mid Rivers Mall Drive:
A 2008 GMC Sierra, driven by Terry L. Fester, 56 of Dow, IL;
A 2003 BMW 330I, driven by Kerrie W. Geusz, 50, of O’Fallon, MO;
A 2004 Mazda 3, driven by Jessica R. Erickson, 25, of St. Charles; and
A 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Linda V. McPherson, 55, of Wentzville.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Renee B. Brugmann, 36, of O’Fallon, MO was driving a 2008 Chevrolet HHR traveling the same direction as the above vehicles.
Brugmann slowed the vehicle, but struck the rear of the Sierra, which caused the Sierra to strike the rear of the BMW, which caused the BMW to strike the rear of the Mazda which caused the Mazda to strike the Malibu.
Brugmann and a passenger in that vehicle both suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur by St. Charles County Ambulance.
All involved were wearing seatbelts during the accident.
