Blind turkey toss event to award trophies and turkey

On Sat., Nov. 22, the St. Charles County Parks Department will host the sixth annual Blind Turkey Toss disc golf tournament at Quail Ridge Park in Wentzville.

The tournament will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Baskets lined with glow sticks will challenge contestants.

First, second and third place winners will receive trophies. There will also be a “Shot in the Dark” hole. The closest to that basket will win a Thanksgiving turkey.

The fee to enter this individual tournament is $15. Those registering online at www.stccparks.org before Nov. 19 will receive a $5 discount.

Registrations will also be accepted on the day of the event from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the park’s disc golf course.

Participants must provide their own glow-in-the-dark discs and compete individually.

Quail Ridge Park is located near the intersections of Interstate 70 and Highway 40/61 off Callahan Road.

The Disc Golf Course, located along BlueStem Drive within the park, offers a combination of short and long holes found in and out of the woods, intended to challenge beginners and experts both.
