Wentzville
On Thursday, October 9th, 2008, the Wentzville Firefighters Community Outreach program made donations to two local services. The donations took place during the regular monthly meeting of the Wentzville Fire Protection District Board of Directors.
The first donation was made to the Green Lantern Senior Center. The Firefighters with the help of the Wentzville Urgent Care Center donated an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). The AED is used when a person is having a heart attack.
AED’s greatly improve a patient’s chance of survival when used with CPR. The Wentzville firefighters have trained the staff at the center on how to use the AED.
The second donation of $1500 was made to the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation. Make-A-Wish helps grant the wishes of terminally ill children.
With the recent Pink Ribbon Tour and October being Breast Cancer awareness month, the Firefighters are selling T-shirts to raise funds to help find a cure. The proceeds from the sales will be donated to a local family in financial need battling Breast Cancer.
The shirts are available at the Headquarters Station for the Wentzville Fire Protection District at 209 West Pearce Blvd, Wentzville, Missouri, 63385.
