The skies may have been grey, but the mood was definitely sunny as students, teachers and administrators took park in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday to officially open the new Crossroads walking path.

“It’s something we’ve been planning for three years, and I’m happy our school community can finally enjoy the new path,” said Principal Rick Beauchamp.

He added, “It also gives our students the chance to get more exercise and enjoy the great outdoors!”

The gravel path is five feet wide and over 1,400 feet in length, or just over one quarter of a mile. Most of the work and materials were donated by local contractor, Scot Weaver, who said “It’s a great school, and we like to help out in the community where we can.”

The path is behind the school, circles part of the playground and is located entirely on Wentzville School District property.
