On Wednesday at about 7:55 a.m. Nicholas W. Dorman, 21, of Troy was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 and was traveling eastbound on Highway 40, west of Callahan.

Stopped at a stoplight were: Deborah A. Quarles, 34, of Wentzville driving a 2000 Jaguar S-Type; Krystal E. Ellermann, 25, of Warrenton driving a 2003 Ford Mustang; Patrick A. Lee, 43, of Wentzville driving a 1999 Buick Regal; Brian S. Zucca, 31, of Wentzville driving a 2008 Nissa Versa; and Brian L. Pashia, 31 of Wright City driving a 2004 Saturn Vue.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol: Dorman was inattentive and failed to stop for the stop light, struck the Saturn Vue and caused each of the other stopped cars to strike the one in front of it. Dorman’s vehicle continued and in addition to striking the Vue, also struck the Buick Regal.

Quarles, Pashia and Dorman all sustained minor injuries and were taken to St. Joseph Hospital West by St. Charles County Ambulance.

All drivers, except Dorman, were wearing seat belts.
