Taylor Haymes, a senior point guard and the leading scorer in Timberland High School girl’s basketball history with 1,258 career points, has committed to play college basketball for the Olivet Nazarene Tigers.
With her parents Randy and Kelly and her sister Sierra at her side, Taylor signed her NAIA National Letter of Intent on Thursday at Timberland High School.
“The whole team is like a family, and when I visited they really made me feel welcome,” said Taylor. “Their basketball program is really great, and I love their wide open ‘run and gun offense.”
Taylor was a 1st Team All-Conference selection in both 2008 and 2009, and she’ll fit right in with a Lady Tigers offense that led the nation in scoring in 2008 with 104.1 points per game.
She is also an Honor Roll student who maintains a 4.2 GPA and scored a 27 on her ACT test.
