Twelve high school juniors from the Wentzville School District have been selected to attend the American Legion Boys State of Missouri.

Almost one thousand of the state’s “Best and Brightest” will convene on the campus of the University of Central Missouri in June for a week long experience in the operation and fundamentals of government.

Holt High School will be represented by Nick Dorris, Evan Engelage, Harrison Moenster, Kieran Piper, Andrew Welker, Devin Langer and Tyler Roe. The alternates are: David Lemon, Dylan Sacco and Ross Senda.

Timberland High School will send James Bell, Camden Bettey, Cody Campbell, Kevin Manley, and Jakeb Rock.

The Wentzville American Legion is the primary sponsor, along with the Lake St. Louis Legion Post, the Wentzville Lions Club, the Wentzville Community Club and the Wentzville Rotary.

The main lesson of Missouri Boys State is that an individual has the power to change the world. No matter what the occupation, each and every one of us has the power to make a difference. Missouri Boys State alumni includes: Stan Kroenke, Bob Holden, Rush Limbaugh and Matt Blunt.
