Some Wentzville residents powerless Saturday

Over 400 people in the Wentzville area were without power last night. Those in the vicinity of Highway 40/61, Corporate Parkway and Quail Ridge Parkway were in the dark from about 8:30 p.m. Power was restored by 10:00 p.m.
Several local businesses were affected in the area, including the Holiday Inn, Imo's Pizza and Burger King.
When called, an Ameren UE spokesperson stated she did not know the cause of the outage; however, a possible transmitter fire near that location was reported to authorities.
The Lake Saint Louis Fire Department and Police responded to the call at Highway 40 and Dauphine. The intersection was closed to traffic for a short time.
Ameren UE serves 8,955 customers in Wentzville.
